The “tastiest fundraiser” in Waco returns June 8th as Stilwell Retirement Residence presents the 32nd Annual Stilwell Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction. This wonderful gathering of residents, families and friends always welcomes hundreds of hungry guests that will fill up on pancakes and raise money for the residents at Stilwell. All money raised goes directly to the Stilwell Activity Fund which uses these funds to provide extras for those that live at Stilwell and to support many in-house projects. The “all you can eat” breakfast includes mouthwatering pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice which will be served from 8am until 10:30am. The cost is once again the biggest breakfast bargain in Waco at only $6 per person. Celebrity servers from area service organizations, media and political office will be on hand plus the Stilwell Silent Auction will be taking bids throughout the morning. Guests will be able to bid on an incredible variety of items where every bidder has a chance of winning at an affordable price. Local businesses and area residents are invited to donate items by contacting Executive Director Joel Wright at 254-772-4644. “Year after year, we welcome newcomers as well as old friends” says Wright. “It’s a family tradition as well as a reunion for our residents. We’re very grateful for our guests and so fortunate to have many volunteers to help raise money for our Residents Council”. Parking is free and Stilwell will also supply a golf-cart shuttle to assist attendees. Stilwell Retirement Residence is the only retirement facility for educators in the state of Texas. Other non-teaching retirees are also welcome. The facility is a non-profit organization and is funded by monthly rentals and a remarkable network of benefactors.
