DILLY DILLY! What does it mean?

It’s been a couple years since a beer catchphrase took hold of the American vernacular. You’d probably have to go all the way back to “Whassssuuppppp!” to find one, in fact. That was until “Dilly Dilly” came about in the new Bud Light campaign. It’s just not some silly-ass phrase made up by some brilliant ad person though. There’s actually some history behind it. It likely goes back to the 1930’s when words like “delightful” and “delicious” were shortened to mean something or someone “remarkable or unusual.” There’s also a 17th century nursery rhyme called “Lavender Blue” that used is it in several lines. Source: BroBible
