Moody Gardens Conservation Efforts in Rehabbing Cold Stunned Sea Turtles

Ninety-five Green Sea Turtles will be released back into the ocean tomorrow after spending roughly a week at Moody Gardens in Galveston, where they were cared for after being stranded on the Gulf Coast due to cold-stun.The turtles will be released into warmer waters at North Padre Island, just south of Corpus Christi, and Moody Gardens staff will join National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) representatives in the release. The turtles cared for at Moody Gardens were among 300 that were rescued last week at East Matagorda Bay after being cold-stunned due to dramatically dropping temperatures.
