DEF LEPPARD'S FULL CATALOGUE FINALLY AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD AND STREAMING

Def Leppard has finally made its entire catalogue available for downloading and streaming. Leppard, who had been longtime holdouts to having the band's music available digitally, even went so far as to re-record their classic hits in note-for-note replications rather than cave to a deal that didn't serve them well. Now, the band's work -- from its 1979 debut, The Def Leppard E.P. through 2015's self-titled album -- can all be found online.Lead singer Joe Elliott told Rolling Stone that the roll out of the catalogue online needed to be just right before giving the online go-ahead: "We needed the right deal for the band. We weren't going to be victims of the industry. We signed our deal with Mercury many, many decades ago when there was no digital part of the record deal. So when (our contract ended) in 2009, we were free to do whatever we wanted to do. We were so busy touring and not worrying about the back catalogue -- because people were still buying CD's -- that we weren't sure about (embracing) streaming."

  • A mid-August show in Missoula, Montana -- possibly a campaign fundraiser for that state's Democratic senator Jon Tester -- was also among the dates leaked.
  • Pearl Jam last toured in 2016 and only played briefly last year at its induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
