Sometimes two things you love come together to create something wonderful, like grilled cheese and tomato soup. And that’s what the creators of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey had in mind with their new concoction because they claim the whiskey and peanut butter flavors “go together so well, they’ll make PB&J jealous.”
But it sounds weird, right? Peanut butter whiskey? But this stuff won the prize for Best Flavored Whiskey at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition recently, so some people like it. But “Esquire” editor Sarah Rense described it as “sickly sweet” and suggests it might be best enjoyed over a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream because of the excessive sweetness. We’re also thinking it could be the perfect addition to a mug of hot chocolate, creating a drinkable boozy Reese’s peanut butter cup. Cheers to that.
