Hosted by Eddie Trunk, the Ride for Ronnie event commemorates the life ofRonnie James Dio, whodiedof cancer in 2010. The ride aims to raise awareness and funds for cancer prevention and cure research. Last year’s show brought in more than $50,000 for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.
"When Ronnie passed away, a lot of people wanted to send money to cancer research, and I was like, but how do you know where it’s really going to?" the singer’s widow, Wendy Dio, toldUCRin 2017. "Some of these big companies do good work, but a lot of money gets eaten up into administration.
