This Christmas, more people than ever before are doing their shopping online. That, of course, leads to more packages and deliveries…and the scammers are making their move. In case you haven’t heard, a number of folks have received fake shipping notifications designed to get your personal and financial info. The phishing emails are made to look like they are coming from UPS, Amazon, or FedEx, but they’re not…so be careful. If you see an email warning you that you’ve been hacked, that they’ve taken the time to “encrypt” all your files, and it’ll just take 150 Bitcoin to get it all resolved…you can pretty much figure out where it’s going. Check the URL, if it looks suspicious, then it probably is. Don’t get so wrapped up into the holiday that you forget to protect yourself.
