Megadeth said they’re replacing ousted bassist David Ellefson on their upcoming album and tour. So far, there hasn’t been an official announcement on who is stepping in for David, who was fired after being hit with sexual misconduct allegations.
But now, Dave Mustaine has hinted at their new “mystery bassist.” In a Cameo video recorded for a fan Alex’s birthday, the rocker pokes his camera around the band’s recording studio. He introduces producer Chris Rakestraw and points out their “mystery bass player,” who is shown laying down on the floor with his arms over his head.
"We will be saying who that is soon, and you actually saw him before anybody else — even though you can't actually see him," Dave notes.
