SALVATION ARMY ANNUAL STUFF THE BUS SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

At Walmart on Sun Valley, and the Hewitt location, volunteers and staff will enthusiastically encourage customers to donate items in our bus bins for this event, on August 3. “CLEAR BACKPACKS are our biggest need right now,” says Major Jeffrie Miracle, commanding officer of the Waco Corps, “We believe that the community will donate the large number of supplies needed for the over 300 students we serve, but clear backpacks are another thing. We only have 106 now and need more! Help us send these students off to school with the items they need to hold their heads up and be ready for the school day!”

WHY The Salvation Army collaborates with local communities and organizations to meet the needs of people. Supporters like HEB and Walmart help The Salvation Army serve more than 23 million Americans annually through social services that help communities overcome poverty and economic hardships.

This collaborative effort between The Salvation Army and Waco and surrounding cities ensures children have the school supplies they need for success. The H-E-B supplies will be delivered to schools in the most need in the area. “This program was a God send for us,” said PR/Media Director, Dinah Mills, “We wanted to increase the output of school supplies and get them to the schools that need them the most. Last year, we were welcomed with open arms and loved the response from H-E-B’s partnership! Can’t wait to see the smiles again this year.”
