Big Tex Foodie News At The State Fair of Texas

Big Tex has revealed the new fattening and mouth-watering array of food offerings at this year's fair, and vendors have again gotten very creative with their culinary concoctions. 

Here are some of the most unusual menu items this year:

  • Cheeseception: A grilled cheese sandwich, sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches.
  •  
  • Churro Crumble Cheesecake: A slice of New York–style cheesecake coated in milk chocolate and rolled in crushed churro crumbles.
  •  
  • Cookie Butter Nachos: Fried flour tortilla chips coated in cinnamon sugar with a scoop of cookie butter cheesecake filling. 
  •  
  • Dickel's Triple Meat Big Back Snack: A layer of street corn topped with smoked brisket, topped with smoked gouda mac and cheese, topped with a buttermilk biscuit and finished off with burnt ends, a sausage link, and maple waffle-flavored potato slices.
  •  
  • Holy Cheeseus: a large slice of white pizza on fermented dough and layered with Pecorino Romano, mozzarella, provolone, asiago, and Parmesan–Reggiano. Added to that is whipped ricotta and mascarpone cheeses, olive oil, black pepper, and hot honey.
  •  
  • Lay's Potato Chip Drink: A combination of mango and citrus juices with hot honey, jalapeno syrup, and strawberry drizzle with a layer of sweet foam and topped with Lay's Sweet & Spicy Honey Potato Chips.
  •  
  • The Nephew: A warm glazed doughnut topped with brisket, mozzarella cheese, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
