SCOTT BAIO went on a radio show yesterday and said that he wasn't shocked by ERIN MORAN's death, because, quote, "You do drugs or drink, you're gonna die." He got some backslash for that after the coroner said it was probably cancer . . . but Scott hasn't apologized.
Erin's struggles have been well documented, and he'd know better than anyone if she was abusing drugs and alcohol 30 years ago. But in reality, it sounds like she was killed by CANCER.
Naturally, Scott got a lot of backlash. And so, he tried to defend himself. He Tweeted, quote, "I said 'IF' you abuse drugs." (Technically, he DIDN'T say 'if.' He said "You do drugs or drink, you're gonna die.")
The radio interview was with the "Bernie and Sid" show. You can find the audio, here. Scroll down, it's under "Scott Baio on Erin Moran: Drugs Will Kill You!"
For what it's worth, RON HOWARD was on "The Talk" yesterday, and he spoke warmly about Erin. He called her a "great, irrepressible spirit." And said her death hit him hard, and that he didn't know that she was ill.
