Kurt Cobain’s childhood home is now officially a landmark. Washington’s Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation has added the Aberdeen house the Nirvana frontman grew up in to the state’s Heritage Register.
The house was constructed in 1923, and Kurt lived there from 1968 to 1984. The home’s current co-owner Lee Bacon tells “Rolling Stone” that they’re finishing up restoring the house to its vintage era, so folks can take private tours to see how it looked when Kurt was growing up.
There’s also an exhibit on the way in downtown Aberdeen. The “Tribute Lounge and Gallery Cafe” will feature Kurt Cobain memorabilia, photos, and more.
